My Ram

Shri Ram. The embodiment of truth and righteousness. From childhood we have been listening about his stories, how he went to exile with Mata Sita and brother Laxman, how he defeated the demon King Ravana and how he exhibited exceptional character through his principles. The righteous Shri Ram faced endless difficulties all throughout his life yet he never left his integrity . So is that perfect man, that Maryada Purushottam whom we worship as god just a character in the epic or does he still exist? “My Ram” exists still, exists within me, within you, within all of us. Yes the “My” is necessary to tell you how close we are to him. Shri Ram watches silently as we perform our actions and deal with various circumstances, he watches when we also in the process forget him and surrender to ego, lust and anger. The “My” before Ram is necessary because it will remind a person even when he is stuck in complexities and wrong habits that he in reality is not a part of the problems but a part of Shri Ram. When one turns to Shri Ram then, doors open to seek inspiration, light emanates to stand for Dharma and strength is given to fight the same situation with a different perspective. The “My” before Ram tells us that the road to Ram will begin from us itself, we will have to change our actions, thought process and habits to reach that pure soul Shri Ram….And when we finally reach him, the universe will smile because he will call us “My son” or “My daughter”.
